Other Ways to Support our Programs:

Taste of Freedom is our premier fundraising event. Held in early spring, the Center is transformed into an elegant tasting room where you enjoy music, delicious local cuisine, local wines, and imported and domestic beers. A fabulous silent auction is an important part of this gala event. Check our calendar for more details or contact us to be notified of this wonderful event.

Purchase a Personalized Engraved Brick for the Butterfly Garden! Your purchase of a personalized engraved brick to complete our butterfly garden path supports our programs! A portion of the brick purchase is tax deductible. Honor your loved ones, friends and special occasions with personalized bricks in our spectacular butterfly garden with its colorful art bench and flowing waterfall. This special garden is used in our children’s education programs and seen by more than 16,000 visitors each year. You can choose between 2 sizes of bricks ($50 and $100), or a hand glazed butterfly tile which comes with a personalized 4x8” brick.

Click here for a brick order form or contact the Center for more details at 715-262-0104.

Purchase Plants at our Spring Plant Sale! Hundreds of plants are sold at our spring plant sale held the third Saturday of May, and on Memorial Day. Annuals, perennials, native plants, herbs and vegetables are available for purchase. Proceeds support our garden projects. See our calendar for more details.

Freedom Run: Local school children sponsor an annual Freedom Run which raises money for various projects at the Center. The Center’s main eagle display, butterfly garden, waterfall and pathway have been supported by the Freedom Run. Your support of this annual Run is appreciated. Call the Center for more details as to how you can help.

Volunteers Are Always Needed!

Interested in helping out at the Center? Volunteers are always needed and are the backbone of the Great River Road Visitor & Learning Center. We are always looking for people to greet the public and welcome visitors. We also have volunteer gardening opportunities to maintain our beautiful gardens.

Through your volunteer efforts you add to the quality of life in our community. We are committed to making your volunteer experience rewarding. If you volunteer at the front desk, one-on-one training is provided and it’s a great way to get to learn more about the region and meet people from around the world. Master Gardeners can use gardening volunteer hours to meet required Extension service hours.

To maintain your volunteer status, we ask that you agree to serve at least 4 hours per month if you volunteer at the front desk. Volunteers can choose other projects and special events throughout the year to meet their personal time needs.
